Irish Horse Register

In mid-June 2024 HSI’s new online portal and E-Passport system will go live. This will be replacing IHR Online. The new online portal and e-passport system, funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM) under the Brexit Adjustment Reserve Fund, will support greater self-service functionality for breeders, faster passport application turnaround times and new functionality to apply for, and track, the status of online applications.

To support this change, payments of new applications and adding covering certificates has now been disabled. Breeders will be able to submit their applications on our new system in mid-June 2024 and further information will be published shortly. For breeders who have urgent applications, forms can be made available by emailing info@horsesportireland.ie. To avail of the same day service, an urgent fee of €150 is applied in addition to the application fee.

Please note, registrations and updates on HorseSource are not uploaded to IHR online.
A new searchable database feature is in development for HorseSource and will be notified to breeders as soon as it becomes available!

Pedigree information

Up to six generations of pedigree provided. These are verified against the IHR database to ensure accuracy.

Progeny

Full list of all progeny registered in the IHR database. Stallion progeny filtered by year for easier searching.

Performance

Links to horses' records with affiliates including FEI, SJI, Eventing Ireland, British Eventing and others,

Coverings

List of all coverings declared by stallion owners for the current breeding year. This information is updated daily.

Genetic evaluation

The definitive source for genetic evaluation data on Irish mares. This information is available for select animals only.

Hypothetical mating

Breeders can choose stallions for hypothetical matings against their mares to determine the predicted breeding result.
